	Welcome to Darling Buds Nursery of Cardiff Bay Darling Buds Nursery is a long established day nursery providing excellent early years experiences for under 5’s since 1996. Our nursery is based in Cardiff Bay and is registered for 54 boys and girls aged from 8 weeks to 5 years old. Darling Buds is a multicultural nursery providing care for all races, religions and genders. The main language used in English, however basic Welsh is linked in to the nursery’s topics, themes and activities. We have qualified experienced staff who will stimulate and encourage your child or children in their early years of development. Within the nursery we aim to provide a happy and secure environment for the children. All our activities are planned to help your child continue his/her social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual development. Registering your Child If no immediate place is available for your child, we will put your name on the nursery waiting list. Before your child starts at Darling Buds Nursery, you are invited to visit us when you will be shown around all Nursery areas. Settling in Period You will be invited to spend time in your child’s group in order to establish relationships with the carers before your child or children are left in the Nursery’s care. Your child will then be invited to stay (by arrangement) for a short period of time without you being present. The First Day at the Nursery When your child is enrolled at Darling Buds Nursery you are invited to stay for as long as you feel necessary in order to be satisfied that your child/children are settled. During this time all paperwork can be checked to ensure we have the correct contact number before you leave Our Routine / Learning Activities At the nursery, we follow a structured daily routine. When with us your child/children will experience a variety of activities including art and craft, shared play, learn to recognise colour, shapes, letters & numbers, story time and singing. We also provide facilities for sand & water play. During the summer months we also provide opportunities for outings to local parks and beauty spots. Please remember to slap on a hat, slip on the shades and splash on the sun cream before bringing your child to nursery. We will be happy to re-apply sun cream provided by you.
